An extruded bi-metal finned tube is an advanced heat transfer element in which different metals are combined through a mechanical extrusion process. Typically, a carbon steel seamless core tube (e.g., ASTM A179, A192, A210 Gr A1/C) is inserted into an aluminum or copper sleeve. Fins are then integrally extruded from the sleeve, creating a metallurgically bonded, one-piece fin structure with superior thermal conductivity, pressure resistance, and corrosion resistance.
Due to its excellent heat transfer performance and mechanical stability, this type of finned tube is ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Typical applications include:
-
Superheaters and reheaters in boilers
-
High-pressure heat exchangers and steam condensers
-
Power plant cooling systems (thermal, nuclear, geothermal)
-
Heat exchangers in chemical and petrochemical industries
-
Desalination systems and highly corrosive environments
-
Refrigeration condensers and natural gas preheaters
